چکیده

Open cell polyurethane foams are often used as cancellous bone surrogates because of their similarities in morphology and mechanical response. In this work, open three different densities characterized from morphometric perspectives. The analysis micro-computed tomography images has revealed that the high density present greatest inhomogeneities. Those inhomogeneities promoted failure location. We have finite element models a tool to estimate elastic properties can be numerical modeling. Furthermore, we assessed anisotropic response foams, whose differences related found significant relationships between morphometry detailed information about morphometry, constants strength limits provided work interest researchers practitioners use these orthopedic implants cement augmentation evaluations.

Characterization of Open Cell Sic Foam Material

This paper presents characterization and modeling of microwave characteristics of SiC foam material. Transmission and reflection measurements are performed in X, K and Ka band for the samples of two different pore sizes and three different thicknesses. Effective and frequency dependent dielectric permittivity is extracted for 50PPI 10mm sample, while for the other samples it was not possible be...

Modeling of Compression Curves of Flexible Polyurethane Foam with Variable Density, Chemical Formulations and Strain Rates

Flexible Polyurethane (PU) foam samples with different densities and chemical formulations were tested in quasi-static stress-strain compression tests. The compression tests were performed using the Lloyd LR5K Plus instrument at fixed compression strain rate of 0.033 s-1 and samples were compressed up to 70% compression strains. All foam samples were tested in the foam rise direction and their ...

Anisotropic polyurethane foam

Anisotropic polymer foams have been prepared, which exhibit a Poisson's ratio exceeding 1, and ratios of longitudinal to transverse stiffness exceeding 50. The foams are as much as 20 times stiffer in the longitudinal direction than the foams from which they were derived. The transformation process involved applying a uniaxial stress sufficient to produce 25% to 45% axial strain to open-cell po...

Characterization of Hot Bituminous-Asphalt Mixtures with Recycled Polyurethane Foam

Received: June 06, 2017 Revised: July 05, 2017 Accepted: July 19, 2017 Abstract: Introduction: The use of polymer wastes in pavement as road is an increasing trend in the road construction sector. Those new pavements reduce the amount of solid waste disposed into landfills and provide more sustainable construction due to the use of in-situ materials. Polyurethane foam waste is a thermostable po...

Finite Element Models for the viscoelasticity of open-cell polyurethane foam

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was used to model viscoelastic effects in the compression of polyurethane (PU) foam. Modelling of the impact compression of foam cubes predicted that a compressed region propagated through the sample, causing step increases in the stress traces. Modelling of head impacts on gymnastic ‘crash’ mats, made of PU chip foam, revealed that the majority, but not all, of th...
